We have been hearing of people feeding the Ospreys. While this is done with a kind heart and good intentions, could you please not feed the birds. Ospreys around the Tweed Shire have access to plenty of good fish and feed themselves very well.
Issues can arise when feeding the birds, including them becoming too familiar with humans (which is hazardous because not all people are kind hearted), receiving inappropriate food types, and exposure to the risk of food poisoning as Ospreys eat their fish very fresh.
We appreciate your cooperation in relation to this matter.
