Beware of Drones

A wildlife carer is pleading for drone users to take greater care after a “matriarch” osprey in Western Australia was so badly hurt that she may never return to the wild.

The raptor, affectionately named Pearl by locals in the coastal town of Denham, was found injured in November last year — not far from her nest atop a phone tower.

Registered wildlife carer Janelle Ende said Pearl was in a “really bad way” and the bird’s injuries were consistent with a drone strike.
